DENOVIANS
The Denovians are from the world Denova 3 and are very similar to Terrans in appearance.
They all have a skin tone of dark brown to black with dark hair and eyes that
are fully black with no iris.
Denova 3 has only had
warp drive for less than 150 years and on the Richter Scale of Cultural Development,
Denova 3 would be classified as being a J culture, the Expansion Age.
The Denova system is
located in the Alpha Quadrant, near the edge of Federation explored space. Denova
has not joined the Federation, however, wanting to keep their autonomy for the
time being.
DENOVIAN CYBORG
On Denova 3, convicted capital offenders are given the opportunity to serve in
the planet's military as cyborgs. After their executions, their brains are removed
from their bodies and surgically implanted in a small metal "brain-box"
complete with external interfaces. They can be kept alive indefinitely in these
boxes, but are put to use by being installed into several different cyborg chassis.
There are several different models used by the Confederation Army, including bipedal
infantry models, quad-pedal tank-like anti-aircraft models, small quad-pedal recon
models, and many more for different applications. The cyborgs are required to
complete basic training, those who don't make it are unplugged.
Cyborgs have been in
use in the Denovian armies for over 100 years, with more advanced models (and
surgical techniques) being developed over that time. Their armies consist mostly
of normal Denovians, with cyborgs playing pivotal roles.
Although there are few
who survive this long, after 25 years of military service with good conduct, a
cyborg is allowed to retire. They are given older, reconditioned chassis for their
civilian use. These models are normally outdated and have all of their weapons
disarmed and removed.
