RIGEL

The Rigel System

The Rigel system is a quadruple star sytem consisting of 13 planets and 40 minor satellites or moons. 12 of the 13 planets are inhabited, either by colonists or military installations. The high number of populated class M worlds can be attributed to the solar systems large habitable zone that reaches nearly to the outter limits of its orbital satellites.

A dense belt of asteroids and space dust, protects the systems habitable worlds from the intense radiation emitted by the systems four suns.

The systems planets are inhabited by a plethora of species..Humans, Vulcans and Orions are just a few of the species that settled in the system.

Orion Prime is the eighth planet from the solar center, Orions IV and V were formerly uninhabitable planets until Orion expansion put permanent protected settlements there.

Rigelians

Rigelians have a similar physiology to Vulcans, although they are not psionic, nor are they as physically capable.

They are natives of Rigel V, a part of the Rigel star system, which has several inhabitable worlds.

Rigelians have eyes that are widely separated on their heads, which give them peripheral vision, but does not limit their forward vision ability. This gives them a very unusual appearance which most humanoid races find unattractive.

They have excellent schools, and have a higher intelligence than the average Terran. They make excellent teachers, scientists, navigators, helmsmen, and commanders.

Rigelians have a high level of technology on their world, and manufacture many types of Federation equipment. Rigel V possesses excellent pharmaceutical laboratories, which produces many of the drugs used in the Federation.
