1. Introduction

On StarDate 9902.04 the science department started conducting sensor scans on the planet V'Lem.

Unusual formations were discovered on the planet V'Lem. Further investigation was conducted by the science department when the Avalon's sensors had picked-up re-occuring impulses from them. Which were also strongest at a particular location.

2. Observations

An Away team was sent down to investigate, as the impulses emminating from these formations were thought to be connected to the telepathic abilites of the V'Lem race.
Strange gemstones were discovered within the formations.

After extensive researching and testing the stones were found to be fossilized eggs of an extinct race, related to the V'Lems. With a 'gel'like chemical center. The reason for the ship's sensors and medical teams not detecting the biological signatures was because of another discovery: The egg's structure over time, became that of what was reading as gemstones.

Another mystery was solved: Why the chemical center was not fossilized like the rest of the egg. The sac is made up of neutrons and minerals which prevented this process, protecting it.

Further testing proved the formations to be that of some kind of telepathic enhancement source. The reason why the readings were so strong.

Minor testing will be finished aboard the Avalon.
